While I was getting my degree, I worked part-time as a bank teller, then when I graduated and I worked at a large investment firm in Treasury Operations doing Cash Management. Purdue Krannert and Investment Banking?

Hi, I will be majoring in Finance at the Krannert Management school at Purdue. I have a simple question to you guys. My goal is to work at one of major Investment banking firms at Wall Street. Is it true those firms don’t give a damn about colleges like purdue because it is not well-known?

Will I not be able to get a internship at those firms, such has Goldman Sachs, Merill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, Credit Suisse, and Morgan Stanley because of my school’s bad reputation?

I am really confused right now. Please help me

How do I become upper class or at least upper-middle?

I’ve already moved from being in a family on strict poverty and living on welfare to working class, and then from lower-middle class to middle class. This took only ten years. Now I’m a graduate from a prestigious private university and headed to Wall Street to be an investment banker or management consultant. I am approaching the divide that separates middle from upper-middle. But, I don’t want to be caught in the binds that trap most of the middle class (e.g., excess debt, poor social network, bouts of unemployment, unplanned pregnancy). What is the smartest way (and most reasonable way) to reach the upper echelons of American society as quick as possible? Are there any career paths that pay off faster and more steadily than others? I’m up for a challenge, if need be!

Accounting, Finance Salary careers?

what i am trying to find out is what would it take to get to a salary that is above the 100k mark in either Accounting or finance. Im interested in Investment companies and money management because of the pay. I hear that the IRS pays really good for tax investigators, which is basically accounting investigation and pay around $130k. I’m just wondering where and how much you can find that kind of money. I am studing to earn a bachelors in either a major in finance and minor in accounting or vice versa.
